Yunyi (Nunu) Zhang holds a Master’s of Music degree in Piano Performance, from the University of Western Ontario, studying with Jean-Paul Bracey, a Licentiate Diploma in Piano Performance, from McGill University, studying under the tutelage of Marina Mdivani, a B.Mus (Honours) in Music Theory and Composition from the Univeristy of Western Ontario, and an ARCT Diploma (Honours with Distinction) in Solo Piano from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto.
Native of Owen Sound Ontario, Nunu has competed in numerous ORMTA regional branch competitions, OMFA competitions and has received several scholarships for performance studies. She is a strong advocate for ORMTA events and is an active member of the London Branch. Alongside performing, Nunu also enjoys volunteering time at retirement homes and sharing the joys of music, especially to those who are handicapped or mentally impaired.
In demand as a piano and theory teacher, Nunu has a full studio in London, Ontario and is in the midst of completing an ARCT in Piano Pedagogy from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Her teaching philosophy is to allow each student to be be able to express music in a way that assists them in their goals. Nunu appreciates each and every one of her students and the wide spectrum of personalities that brings so much variety and fun in her everyday teaching!
